Renault Megane RS 265

Renault UK has confirmed that the latest Renault Megane RS 265 will be priced from R390,000 to R420,000 for the standard and CUP models respectively.

Compared to the Renault Megane RS 250, the new model boasts a power figure of 192kW and an extra 20Nm of torque. That lowers the 0-100kph time to 6.0 seconds – an improvement of 0.1 seconds – and adds an extra 3kph to the top speed, bringing it to 253kph.

During normal driving, the Renault Megane RS 265 only produces 184kW, with the additional power accessed by activating Sport mode. This alters the exhaust note, too.

A range of new options has been added to the Renaultsport Megane line-up, including the Red Design Pack, which features red striping on the front blade, rear diffuser and side skirts.

A Visio System – essentially a lane-departure warning system – is also available, for R5,000. A rear parking camera and front and rear parking sensors can be specified, too.

Renault SA hasn’t yet confirmed if the Renaultsport Megane 265 will be sold locally.
